INNOVATION IN TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESS

Innovative teaching methodologies include developing the capability of students to use ideas and information, testing of ideas and evidence, generation of new ideas and evidence, facilitation of personal development and development of a student’s capacity to plan and manage their learning experience.

All the faculty members, here at M.D. Education Group, exclusively adopt various strategies in pharmacy education for effective teaching and learning.

1. E-learning or web based learning includes numerous types of media that deliver text, audio, images, animation (through ppts), and streaming videos or video conferencing conducted for students during lectures (For instance, Students experienced live video conferencing in Communication Skills classes).

2. Providing structured learning Material: The students are provided curriculum based PPT presentations (consisting visually organize information such as mind maps and flow charts), pdf based on latest advancement, scan copy as well as hard copy of properly structured lecture notes and question bank.

3. Z to A Approach: This approach attempts to explain the application part of a particular concept first. The teachers explain the application of a particular concept first and explain the effects of such applications.

4. Virtual based learning: The student takes additional support in some of theory subjects by experiencing innovative virtual environment as it provides 3D representations of the objects for lessons of the course. For Eg; viewing simulations provide additional ways of learning chemistry (such as Ball and stick molecular models). The teachers provide a collection of resources such as: electronic documents, videos, PowerPoint presentations, and links to Web sites (Such as videos related to basics of tablet manufacturing in Pharmaceutics).

5. Real-World Learning: Based on the outside interaction and participation such as in conferences, seminars, workshop, FDP etc., teachers link their course to outside learning and infuse their experiences into teaching/instructions by relating and upgrading the students through sharing course current advancement  making the material easy to understand and easy to learn.

6. Brainstorming: Faculty member also use this group creative techniques for students along with straight lecturing during classes to help the students develop or improve their problem-solving or thinking skills.

7. Cooperative learning (CL): It includes completing laboratory reports and homework assignments in lecture courses. Pre-examination study tutorial sessions also are set up to meet out of class.
